Today, Mahendra Singh Doni’s legacy as a CSK Captain comes to end as MS Dhoni steps down as CSK captain ahead of the start of IPL 2022. Now Ravindra Jadeja leads the team as he is the new captain of Chennai Super Kings. MS Dhoni was one and only captain of CSK since the start of the Indian Premier League in 2008 as well the franchise, CSK.

New CSK Captain IPL 2022 – Ravindra Jadeja

On Thursday, 24 March 2022, Mahendra Singh Dhoni handed the captaincy of Chennai Super Kings to Ravindra Jadeja right before the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL) season 2022. Now All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja who has been one of the most important players of CSK since 2012 will become the third player to lead CSK. Jadeja proved himself as a player and performed IPL season after season. Recently he second his 2nd Test hundred (175 Runs) against Sri Lanka.

CSK’s Official Statement, “MS Dhoni has decided to hand over the leadership of Chennai Super Kings and picked Ravindra Jadeja to lead the team. Jadeja has been an integral part of Chennai Super Kings since 2012. Dhoni will continue to represent Chennai Super Kings this season and beyond”.

Ravindra Jadeja’s First Reaction To Being Appointed CSK Skipper

“Feeling good, but I also know I need to fill in the big boots. I need to carry forward the legacy set by Mahi Bhai. I don’t need to worry too much because he is here. MS Dhoni hands over captaincy of CSK to Ravindra Jadeja

MS Dhoni always believes to promote young talent both in IPL and National Team. MSD is famous to take big moves and he again took one such move just two days ahead of IPL 2022. Now Ravindra Jadeja will show his talent as captain of CSK in the season opener against Kolkata Night Riders on Saturday, 26th March 2022. MS Dhoni steps down as CSK captain but he will continue as a player in Chennai Super Kings this season.

In MSD’s Captaincy, CSK has already won four titles, just one less than Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians. Since Dhoni became captain of the team in 2008, CSK became one of the most successful IPL franchises of all time in IPL.
