Mayim Bialik and boyfriend Jonathan Cohen taking some time off – but it’s not for what fans might think.
In a new post uploaded to Jeopardy! host’s Instagram, she revealed a new development in her working relationship with her podcasting partner. The two signed up to participate in a Global Day of Unplugging on March 3, where the two will choose to stop using their digital devices for 24 hours.
As The The Big Bang theory alum writes in his caption, there is much more behind this initiative than just staying away from social media.
“We talk a lot about [podcast] about the benefits of unplugging from technology, and you’re invited to help us turn those words into action!” Mayim Bialik’s breakdown host wrote on February 27.

Mayim continued: “The Global Day of Unplugging is a 24-hour period that stretches from sunup to sundown. We encourage you to take this day to create valuable time to unplug, relax, reflect, be active, visit the outdoors and/ or connect with loved ones.”
When followers caught wind of Mayim and Jonathan’s weekend plans, they decided to share their thoughts about it in the comments. Turns out a lot of people loved the idea of taking a step away from technology.
So, what exactly is a Global Day of Unplugging? According to the official website, the annual event began in 2009 and is always held on the first weekend of March. Furthermore, this is not just a US initiative. Major cities around the world (such as London, Paris and Amsterdam) also participate.
