French fashion designer Olivier Rousting has reported the theft of 50 pieces of couture just ahead of his highly anticipated show at Paris Fashion Week.
The creative director of Balmain, with a massive following of 9.8 million on Instagram, took to the platform to share the shocking news of their delivery van being hijacked.
In a heartfelt post, he revealed, “This morning, I woke up with a smile, starting the fittings for my next show at 9 a.m., and this is what happened… 50 Balmain pieces stolen. Our delivery was hijacked. The truck got stolen. Thank goodness, the driver is safe.
So many people worked tirelessly to make this collection happen. We are now faced with the daunting task of redoing everything, but this is profoundly disrespectful. We also recommend you to check out Shocking Kim Kardashian’s Ultimate Friendship.
Olivier is scheduled to showcase his latest collection at Paris Fashion Week, slated to run from September 25 to October 3 this year. The stolen truck was carrying the final pieces of his women’s wear spring/summer 2024 line, adding to the urgency of the situation.
Rousting, at the age of 37, passionately declared, “We will work around the clock, our suppliers will do the same. So many workers, suppliers, my team, and I are committed to overcoming this setback. Please stay safe; this is the world we live in. Love you, my Balmain team, and we won’t give up.”
Olivier took on the role of creative director at just 25 years old back in April 2011 when he replaced Decarnin. His work has been lauded for embracing hip-hop culture and championing diversity over the years, earning him a roster of celebrity clients such as Kim Kardashian and Beyoncé, both of whom have been seen donning various Balmain pieces.
Renowned designer Donatella Versace reached out to Olivier with a message of support in the wake of this unfortunate incident, saying, “Sending you all my love. We advised you to check out Ellyse Perry Net Worth 2023.
I know that you and your creativity will prevail.” The fashion world now watches closely as Olivier Rousting and his dedicated team work tirelessly to recreate their stolen collection in time for the highly-anticipated Paris Fashion Week.
