Ken Jeong just called out longtime friend and sometimes teammate Joel McHale … but fans will be surprised at the reason.

Earlier this month, The masked singer season 9 judge appeared on The conversation to discuss everything about the hit series. When the subject turned to the news of a community reunion movie in the works on the Peacock, the daytime TV talk show threw up a picture of Ken’s character Ben Chang alongside Joel’s character Jeff Winger. While most people would make candid comments about their co-stars, Ken decided to joke about the status of their friendship.

“I told The conversation not putting up a poster of Joel McHale during my segment,” he joked in a clip he posted to Instagram on Feb. 9. “He’s … I’ll say it right now, unpopular opinion. He used to be a good friend of mine, until I became a star!”

Ken continued, “And now … He might be in the reunion movie, if I let it! If I let it! So Joel McHale, I’m watching you on TV … put some respect in my name! Sheclacky !”

When the fans caught on The hangover comedian’s rant circulating on social media, it didn’t take long for them to start sharing their thoughts. But many also quickly realized that his comments were meant for a moment of hilarity.

“Keep dreaming Winger, the Chang Dynasty shall rise again!!!!” wrote one person on Instagram, referring to the hit NBC series. “Absolutely hilarious 😂,” added another. “I’m here for the @kenjeong & @joelmchale bromance,” another user replied.
