Goosebumps Returns with Spine: Disney has just unveiled an exciting trailer for their upcoming take on the beloved Goosebumps series by R.L. Stine, geared towards kids who love a good scare. This teaser offers a taste of the spooky moments to come and features Travis Scott’s catchy track “Goosebumps” as its backdrop.
It introduces us to a group of five high school students, played by Zack Morris, Isa Briones, Miles McKenna, Ana Yi Puig, and Will Price.
These teens embark on a shadowy and twisted journey to uncover the mysteries surrounding the tragic death of Harold Biddle, a fellow teenager who passed away three decades ago. Goosebumps Returns with Spine
This adaptation represents the second TV iteration of “Goosebumps,” following the anthology series that aired from 1995 to 1998. Fans of the Goosebumps novels may recall the two feature films in 2015 and 2018, both featuring Jack Black as a fictionalized R.L. Stine.
The new Goosebumps series draws inspiration from five of Stine’s most cherished stories: “Say Cheese and Die!,” “The Haunted Mask,” “The Cuckoo Clock of Doom,” “Go Eat Worms!,” and “Night of the…”
Unlike the classic anthology format, this reboot will focus on five high schoolers who come together to investigate Harold Biddle’s mysterious death in their hometown, which occurred three decades ago. Justin Long takes center stage as the new teacher in town, Nathan Bratt, with a connection to Biddle’s murder.
As they delve into solving the mystery, these teenagers will uncover the dark secrets their parents kept hidden from their own teenage years and confront supernatural forces beyond their comprehension that haunt their town.
The teaser, aptly titled “Don’t Blink,” doesn’t reveal too much but sets a creepy tone with the cast members staring unflinchingly ahead with eyes as black as the void. It teases a quick montage of the scares awaiting viewers in the first season of this reboot.
Alongside the teaser, Disney released new images, mostly featuring the kids navigating eerie and frightening locations as they seek to solve the mystery, even if it leaves them a bit slimy or scared. Justin Long’s character raises suspicions in the first image, as he’s seen venturing out at night with a shovel and flashlight.
The younger cast members featured in the teaser include Ana Yi Puig as Isabella, Miles McKenna as James, Will Price as Jeff, Zack Morris as Isaiah, and Isa Briones as Margot. The cast also includes Rachael Harris from “Lucifer” and Rob Huebel from “Childrens Hospital.”
Notably, Rob Letterman, the director of the 2015 Goosebumps film, will be an executive producer for this series, working alongside Nicholas Stoller, a renowned comedic filmmaker.
