Iconic Buffy the Vampire Slayer Cast Reunites in Thrilling Audible Original – ‘Slayers: A Buffyverse Story’ Coming October 12th!

Iconic Buffy the Vampire Slayer Cast Reunites: A thrilling reunion is in the works for fans of the iconic supernatural TV series “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” as several original cast members are joining forces in a fresh Audible original production titled “Slayers A Buffyverse Story.”

The ensemble cast includes beloved actors such as James Marsters, Charisma Carpenter, Anthony Head, Juliet Landau, Emma Caulfield Ford, Amber Benson, James Charles Leary, and Danny Strong, with newcomer Laya DeLeon Hayes making her debut in the Buffyverse.

This scripted audio series, set to launch 20 years after the show’s conclusion, promises to bring a captivating mix of horror, heart, humor, and surprises for listeners.

However, notable figures like Sarah Michelle Gellar, Alyson Hannigan, Eliza Dushku, and David Boreanaz, who played pivotal roles in the original series, do not appear to be part of this project.

The storyline picks up a decade after the last episode aired in 2003 and revolves around Spike, portrayed by James Marsters, who goes undercover in Los Angeles to convince the dark forces that he’s back to his nefarious ways. A twist emerges when he encounters 16-year-old Indira Nunnally, played by newcomer Laya DeLeon Hayes, leading to Spike’s unexpected return to “baby-slayer-sitting duty.”

But the narrative takes an intriguing turn when Spike’s path crosses with a seasoned Slayer from a parallel reality—one where Buffy Summers never existed and Cordelia Chase, portrayed by Charisma Carpenter, is the sole Slayer. This Cordelia seeks Spike’s assistance in dealing with a familiar threat that plagues her world: his former lover, Drusilla, played by Juliet Landau.

James Marsters, excited about reprising his role, shared his enthusiasm for the project, promising a blend of horror, passion, and mischief. He described the immersive audio storytelling as a unique opportunity for both loyal fans and newcomers to experience the world of vampire slaying in an unprecedented way.

Rachel Ghiazza, Chief Content Officer at Audible, expressed her excitement about “Slayers: A Buffyverse Story,” emphasizing its ability to provide a fresh and dynamic take on a cult-classic while offering an enjoyable and nostalgic journey. With a cast of returning favorites and new talents, the series aims to captivate fans of the original show and entice newcomers to the world of Sunnydale.

“Slayers: A Buffyverse Story” was crafted by Amber Benson and Christopher Golden, with direction by Benson, Golden, and Kc Wayland. The series premieres on October 12th and will be showcased at New York Comic Con with a panel on October 13th at 1:30 p.m. ET, along with an Audible Slayers-themed activation available throughout the weekend.
