LeBron James: NBA Star’s Diverse Ventures, Lakers Playoff Push, & Son’s Health Update

LeBron James, widely regarded as one of the greatest basketball players of all time, has a diverse portfolio beyond his basketball career. He is a co-owner of a tequila brand with Draymond Green and also has a stake in the Blaze Pizza chain. However, it appears that one of the Blaze Pizza locations in the Bay Area has closed down.

According to a tipster who contacted East Bay Nosh, there was initially a sign on the front door indicating a temporary closure for the summer, but it now seems that the Blaze Pizza outlet at 2400 Bancroft Way in Berkeley has permanently shut down. The Blaze Pizza company website confirms the closure, mentioning that the Berkeley location, situated near UC Berkeley and the Durant food court, had opened in early 2021. Unfortunately, it remains unclear when exactly this closure took place.

LeBron James is entering his fifth season with the Los Angeles Lakers and is determined to lead them back to playoff success following a disappointing period post-2020. After their victory over the Miami Heat during the COVID-affected season, the Lakers finished 7th, 11th (missing the playoffs entirely), and 7th again in the 2022/23 season.

While they did qualify for the playoffs and eliminated the Memphis Grizzlies and Golden State Warriors, they were ultimately swept by the Denver Nuggets in the Conference Finals. In the upcoming 2023/24 season, the Lakers are looking to make it to the NBA Finals after acquiring Gabe Vincent from the Heat on an $11 million per year contract.

LeBron James and Dwyane Wade are often considered one of the greatest duos in NBA history, alongside iconic pairs like Shaq and Kobe and Jordan and Pippen. Their success was built on mutual selflessness, taking turns to close out games during crucial moments. Wade’s decision to step aside and support LeBron when he joined the Miami Heat in the 2010-11 season showcased the exceptional teamwork between the two superstars.

LeBron James created some buzz about a possible retirement after the Lakers were swept out of the Western Conference Finals by the Denver Nuggets. However, he later clarified his statement in the offseason, indicating that he would continue playing in the 2023-24 season. LeBron, a 19-time All-Star, displayed remarkable consistency and production during the postseason despite dealing with injuries.

As for LeBron’s future in the NBA, the question remains: how long will the four-time league MVP continue to play? This is a topic of interest, and three-time Lakers champion Byron Scott recently discussed it on the Scoop B Selects show with host Brandon โ€œScoop Bโ€ Robinson. In addition to his basketball career, LeBron’s son, Bronny, a 6’3″ freshman combo guard at USC, faced a health setback when he suffered a cardiac arrest in July. He has since been diagnosed with a treatable congenital heart defect as the root cause. This health condition may affect the timing of his decision to declare for the NBA draft, as it’s uncertain when he’ll be able to suit up for the Trojans this season.
